The Process

A close and personal one-on-however-many-of-you-there-are from yours truly, I'll give you the straight up on my inspirations and dreams, hoping that by the end of it you're hooked and wanna read it! (Please read this it's been four years...)

Quick note to those with short attention spans: Important info will be colored so you can skim. Note that you may miss finer details by doing this, but you can always go back to read if you get confused or have a question.

The beginning

CCS wasn't always a book series. It started out as a... Gacha Club character... yes, unfortunately I was thirteen once. Anywho, originally Cherish, the first MC of CCS was named Kitty. Her back story was relatively the same, depressed princess who got bullied, was a hybrid, blah, blah, you know the trend. Well, it wasn't until February 2023 that I decided to make my day dreams into a reality in the form of writing. Yes, it was cringe at first, but as I started doing research and digging into side character stories, I started to want to write books about them too, eventually branching off from there. About half the cast was made during the writing of Desiderium, most being scrapped and remade during the switch from Gacha to book. From there, everything just fell into place. I know Cherish's story may seem stupid to some at first, I wrote it expecting it to not be my best as I wanted to keep the elements that made her, well, her. Regardless, this all started with her, so I want her to have a big impact. Perhaps I'm too attached to her, or perhaps I'm using my young age as an excuse, but I'm being honest when I say that CCS started by revolving around her, and that was the beginning! Now that I'm older and learning more by the minute, I want to branch off from the worlds centering around her, so stick around and help me out by making your own characters and stories!

Time Management

With School, a job, and chores, how do I find the time to work on this series? Am I just gonna build a fanbase and abandon them? My anxiety literally could never. Yes, I have a very strict schedule, and yes I get bouts of creative block or just needing a break, but NEVER IN A LIFE TIME WOULD I GIVE UP ON THIS (unless it fails miserably). Even while being unable to work physically, I'm always imagining what I'm gonna write next in a scene, making notes for a future animation, or thinking of a new detail I can add to a character. All of this to say that even when I'm sleeping, I'm still thinking of more things I can add to the series, then when I have the time I add it.

Where To Go From Here

What do you mean from here? I've barely begun! I still have character sheets, sketches of worlds, short stories, side stories, LORE to create. There is no end in sight as even when I finish that, I'll skip back to the past and make some more books on old characters, or skip to the future! No worries friends, I will be busy for a LONG time to come. With animations, books, sketches, and a million other things to do, I'm not sure I'll ever be done...

Your Involvement

Ah yes, the catch. See, because I'm so busy, this is where you come in. Or maybe not you; it depends on how excited you are when I tell you that you can make characters for this series and, if the lore fits nicely into the history, your character will become an actual character in the cannon world, maybe even appearing in an officially written book (and by that, I mean a book you write)! Similar to the Hazbin Hotel community, I want to build a space where, if I were to have to go for an extended amount of time, you guys can entertain yourselves. I also want to give people who struggle with world building, but love writing, a chance to insert their characters into a world and have it mean something more than fanfiction. I mean, imagine if you made an OC and it ended up as a cameo in a Harry Potter film? I think that'd be so cool! Of course, I have no intention in stealing your OC. You worked hard to make it, you deserve the credit. Thus, I had an idea, and that's what started this entire website. If you create a character or book that becomes cannon, you get added to the Catacombs page, where every artist whose work gets used (with permission) and writer whose helped with the books is highlighted with their name (alias or real, you get to choose), and a link to their social media. Along with that, your contribution (stating why you are there). Hopefully this is a good compromise as I was worried adding people's users inside the book would be ineffective if they were to change their user.
